It’s no secret by now that Seattle is among the hottest real estate markets in the country and with that accolade comes intense competition. Whether you’re moving to the area or currently a resident and considering a real estate transaction of any kind, us this simple formula to help direct your decision.
As the temperature rises so do real estate prices.
That’s right, nation wide and especially here in Seattle, the activity around real estate is heaviest during the warmer months, May – July in particular. So with that said, consider buying a home in Seattle during the cooler months of October – February and imagine selling your home between March and September.
Now, take this simple formula with a grain of salt and consider the inventory. Summer activity levels typically equate to more listings while cooler months see fewer. If you’re looking for a very specific living situation than the odds of finding that during the summer is greater vs winter but if you’re simply in need of shelter and not too picky, odds are you’ll save some money by purchasing in the winter.
