One thing is for certain in my life and that is how grateful I am each day for the experiences that have lead me to where I stand. It’s not all been glamorous, some days more difficult than others, but I consider myself extremely fortunate for many reasons, one of which is the opportunity to have played soccer at Seattle University.
In 2004 I was recruited to Seattle U to join a collegiate soccer family built on sound principles. Four years and one national championship later I graduated from SU and as I look back now in 2016 I’m proud of my time there. I’m excited to watch the current team compete and I’m even more honored to have been part of such a profound legacy.
On September 30, 2016, SU hosted an event commemorating their 50th year anniversary. Over 100 alumni spanning all fifty years turned out to watch SU defeat nationally ranked Utah Valley under the lights at Championship Field. Frank McDonald, former Media Relations Manager of the Seattle Sounders documented the event, if you feel so inclined give his article a read. Truly is a wonderful depiction of a great athletic program. Go Redhawks!
