As evident by the current forecast, summer is far from over here in Seattle and if you're like me you've never made a cup of cold brew coffee before. For years I've written cold brew off; it's more expensive in the coffee shops and therefor must be more difficult to create at home, right? Wrong.

Here are five easy steps to making not only a cup, but a pitcher of cold brew coffee:

What you Need:

French Press, fresh coffee grounds, cold water

1. Grind up the beans.

2. Add the coffee grounds to your French press and cover with cold water. 4:1 cups of water to coffee grounds ratio.

3. Put the plunger aside and cover French press with saran wrap.

4. Place the French press in the refrigerator for 12 – 14 hours.

5. Remove from refrigerator and plunge.

That's really all it requires to achieve the most basic form of cold brew. Of course there are ways to expand the process with the addition of some creative twists. For direction on how to take it to the next level Read On

Enjoy!
